My second time around with a transfer day was just as exciting as the first except this time I didn’t experience it alone. My mom got to come with me and she even got a video of the whole thing! No not a video of my lady parts.. that would be weird.. she got a video of the ultrasound monitor that showed the embryos being transferred. It was mostly for Cliff to see since he couldn’t be there but its also just a cool thing to have. It was an awesome experience and I am glad she was there for it. π Cody was extra excited about this transfer and even Continue Reading
Breathing and Updates!
There is one thing that I have recently been reminded of that is very important to me.. breathing! Before Cliff went back to work he got a terrible cold that lasted about 4ish days. So naturally after taking care of him and getting him well, he went back to work and I got sick. π€ It wasn’t the flu but this cold attacked my sinuses like it was on a revenge mission. I was so congested that it was hard to sleep and all I could do was feel like death on the couch. Oh and think about how I took for granted all those times I was able to breath out of my nose. π€§ I really missed that. But now that I am no longer a mouth-breather I can focus and get y’all an update on what’s been going on!
Our 9 little mini-me’s are hibernating, and we started prepping for the next steps! First thing was Continue Reading
Embryos?? Yes Please!!
WE HAVE EMBRYOS PEOPLE!! This is not a drill!!! ππππΌπΎ
Every step of this process has been different and more intense than the first time around. This week of growing embryos has kept me on my toes for sure! After the egg retrieval, the mature eggs are quickly fertilized and the growing begins! π₯ My doctor calls with updates daily, except for day 4 (we will get to that later) because you typically lose some every day so its important to know what’s going on. It keeps you in a strange state of calm knowing that things are progressing even if you hear the number getting smaller.
Here’s a quick recap of what we knew in my last postΒ β They retrieved 34 eggs, 23 of them were mature, and all 23 fertilized with Cliffs special men. Yay! The next day (Day 2), 21 of them were still growing and in the running to become future little Cliff and Danae’s! Now that we are all caught up.. lets continue..Continue Reading
All The Eggs!!
Since this was my 2nd time going through the egg growing/retrieval process, I was pretty confident I knew what to expect but boy was I wrong! My doctor explained that for the first round, the meds and procedures are based off of general stuff like age and weight. For the second round, they were able to tailor it more specifically to me. So they upped my meds significantly and apparently my body REALLY like that because it responded more than my doctor was even expecting. This was a really good thing.. at first..
At every ultrasound they count the follicles/eggs that are growing and it wasn’t long before the count started hitting the high 20s. Next thing I knew, they were counting 35+ which is amazing because the first time, we barely got 25. π Along with every other day ultrasounds, they had to monitor my hormone levels which was why I had to get blood drawn every other day as well. π Just to give you a comparison,Continue Reading
IVF Round #2!
Soooooo guess who passed her blood test like a champ?!?!? That’s right.. ME!! Woohoo!!! We are full steam ahead for IVF round #2! π But before I jump into all the things that start today, I have a quick side story about my blood work..Β Everyone at this point should know who Cody is. If you don’t, you can read the post where I quickly introduced him here –> Cody!
Okay.. so I usually take Cody with me to all my appointments especially if I am going by myself. Since Cliff wasn’t home on blood work day, Cody loaded up in my purse and we went to get stabbed in the arm. You know, typical Thursday.. Continue Reading
